Gasp! Could it be! Is this a cover to my third Teen Titans comic?!
No! It's not! Gotcha! Bwah-Ha ha ha ha ha ha!
This is just some old TT art that I decided to spruse up and turn into a mock cover. Hence why the character's have maintained their original designs.
Now, to be serious for a moment, I suppose some of you want some answers regarding my TT comic series. The fact is, when the show ended, so did most of my interest. And it's hard enough to make a full page comic even when you're super interested. So no, I won't be doing a third comic any time soon.
To compromise, I'll happily sum up where I was going to go with the comic for you:
There were going to be a couple more comics in my original plan actually. The first one featured the Titans regrouping after losing BB and interviewing for new members. This would have eventually led them to accepting KidFlash onto the team. Admitedly, a lot of my comic's were motivated by my own biases and I just wanted to sawp BB for KidFlash. So there.
The next bit was going to be really ambitious of me. The plan was that a group of all female Titans heroes, made up of Flamebird, Argent, Jessie Quick, Supergirl, and Troia/wondergirl was going to move in to Jump city, and claim the title of Teen Titans themselves. Under a "girl power" kind of context saying that an all girl team would be the best team possible and so on. At the same time, Red-X would be forming his own team of Anti-Titans, consisting of Red-X, Blackfire, Atlas, Psi-lord, and Madam Rouge 2 (the original's daughter out for revenge!). So the book would ultimately end with a huge three way brawl between the teams, until eventually the girl team and the Titans join forces and become friends. The book would end with Troia/Wondergirl seeing the statue of BB and saying something like: "Hey, wait a minute, that looks just like the guy on Paradise Island!"
The third comic would have jumped off of that and led the team (now made up of Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven, Troia/WonderGirl and KidFlash) on a secret mission to Paradise Island. There they find Beast Boy relaxing in luxury being worshipped by some of the women there as an animal demi-god. Since he can shape shift into any animal, and male animals are allowed on Paradise Island they didnt have any problem with him obviously. This is also when I'd introduce BB's new scruffy design and badass attitude, since he almost died and all. BB decides he wants to stay on Paradise Island and the Titans leave him there for the time being. Eventually i would have done some kind of "Titans fight some huge threat that overpowers them, but then BB returns to the rescue just in time!" sort of thing, but I hadn't thought that far ahead yet.
Throughout all of this I was going to develop a love-triangle thing between Raven, Robin, and Starfire. (So I guess some of you shippers out there should be happy I DIDN'T continue the comic) I also would have had Kidflash jonesing for Raven, but her rejecting his advances.
I'd finish the series with a idea I had where we followed up on the Titans in the time of Batman Beyond, where Dick Grayson, would have had founded his own team of new-age Titans (consisting of some characters from Kingdom Come and other DC in-references) that were anti-establishment and apposed the Justice League Unlimited. The JLU wanting to disband the seperate Teen Titans team and pressuring them to just combine into and be apart of the bigger JLU. But the Titans, wanting to be themselves and have a place specifically for like-minded youngsters to gather and fight crime their own way, would obviously resist. It would focus on Terry being torn between the two groups himself (since he's still a teen) and having to prevent an all out clash between them.
I also played around with the idea of doing a Spiderman crossover like that older pic in my gallery.
So I actually had pretty big plans there, all of which you guys will never see. Sorry!
But don't give up hope guys! What you see before you in this artwork is more telling than you may realise. While it may or may-not connect with my previous TT series, I have been and am STILL considering doing an all out "crisis" type story involving ALL of the series in the DCAU, including the Teen Titans. It would feature the Titans travelling through time, and the villain would be Chronos wearing the Anti-Matter armor, which you can see a small glimps of in the artwork seen here.
So maybe in time you'll still get a comic featuring the Titans out of me yet. Time will tell.
